We are so excited for the upcoming Minister and Spouse Retreat at the Haymarket Courtyard Marriott, in Lincoln, NE from May 1-2, 2026. This year, we are pleased to have Timm & Miranda Collins lead us in our large group sessions: Strengthening Your Marriage in Ministry.
"Whether you’ve been in ministry for decades or just getting started, balancing the demands of marriage and the church presents challenges for any ministry couple. Learn and engage with practical steps for pastors and wives to handle unique ministry demands and safeguard their relationships, as husband and wife and as parents."
Timm and Miranda Collins have been blessed to serve in the local church for over 20 years, most recently planting Capital City Church and Silver Lake Church in northeast Kansas. Timm also serves as the Send Kansas/Nebraska State Director and Miranda works for Church Forward, the KS/NE State Convention. Along with connecting with other church leaders and spouses, they spend time with their two teenage sons on their small hobby farm in the country.
Couples from our network of churches will be coming together for a time of fellowship, relaxation, and restoration. Our prayer is that this will be a nice respite from the hectic pace and stress of ministering to others. This event is designed as a fellowship, encouragement and enrichment event for pastors and ministry staff and their spouses. Because of the unique nature of ministry, we limit this event to attendees that fit 1 of the following:

- Full-time ministry staff and their spouse
- Bi-vocational ministry staff (must be paid) and their spouse
- Pastoral Resident (one per church), and their spouse, that your church is planning to send out to pastor an existing church or plant a new church within a year.
Our retreat begins with dinner at 6:00 PM on Friday and concludes with lunch on Saturday. We’ll have just two large group sessions with plenty of time for fellowship and time alone with your spouse. Our schedule is minimal to allow you rest.
**Reminder, couples from cooperating churches (those that financially contribute to HCN) need to pay the $75 fee to secure a spot for the weekend. Couples from affiliating churches (those that DO NOT financially contribute to HCN) need to pay the $250 fee to secure a spot. This fee can be paid online, or by check/cash brought to the office. Heartland Church Network will manage all the details with the hotel and meals. If paying online, please use the Minister & Spouse Retreat fund allocation.
