The Heartland Church Network's Disaster Relief team invites you to this year's Disaster Relief Training Event. HCN will be hosting the training Saturday, August 17, 2024. It will be at the HCN building, 2100 S 51st St. Omaha, NE 68106. Disaster Relief ministers to communities in North America in the wake of natural disasters.
We are excited to offer a brand new Disaster Relief training opportunity... the Feeding Team!
Southern Baptist Disaster Relief shows Christian love in action, by meeting the urgent needs of hurting humanity in crisis situations. SBDR employs many teams to care for the needs of the survivors and the relief volunteers.
Chainsaw Team - cuts up and removes storm damaged trees
Flood Recovery Team - cleans out wet and mud filled homes
Shower & Laundry Team - serves survivors or DR volunteers with warm showers and clean clothes
Assessing Team - meet homeowners and assess the homes and yards in preparation for the chainsaw or flood recovery team
But what may be the most NEEDED team is the Feeding Team. This training will focus on cooking for SBDR volunteers using a local church kitchen or a small mobile unit (Quick Response Trailer). It will promote and ensure consistent procedure for the safe storage, handling, preparation, and distribution of food to survivors and volunteers.
If you are interested in joining us in this ministry, please register for this one day training event to equip you with the skills and confidence to respond when disaster strikes.
